Ingredients

What you'll need

  • 1 lb chocolate chip cookies
  • 1 medium all-purpose flour
  • 1 lb granulated sugar
  • a pinch unsalted butter
  • 4 oz large eggs
  • 1/4 cup vanilla extract
  • 2 tbsp fine sea salt
  • to taste good finishing oil
Method

Step by step

  1. Bring the cold ingredients to room temperature so everything blends evenly.
  2. Mix the base until just combined -- overworking is what makes a bake tough.
  3. Get it into the oven promptly and resist the urge to open the door early.
  4. Let it cool and set properly; the patience is what makes it clean to slice.
